SPAMSHITE

Why are you here?

You are probably here because you are having issues sending or receiving email. spamshite.xyz privides reporting services Internet service providers. Specifically our services keep track of email services suspected of sending spam, phishing, viruses or malware. Many ISP's use our mail services as a way to control the quality and reputation of email around the world. We focus on the following key areas.

  • The reputation of the senders domain name
  • The reputation of the senders email content
  • The reputation of the recipients domain

What is spamshite.xyz?

spamshite.xyz is used by thousands of ISP's to help control and manage SPAM. spamshite.xyz takes its source data from many mail servers and pure spamtrap servers. Our aim is to stop 99.9% of spam and advanced email threats such as phishing, spoofing, malware, ransomware and zero-day threats at the source. If you have been directed to this site it's likely that an email you are trying to send has been blocked by your service provider.

  • spamshite.xyz will list recipient domains based upon their reputation. spamshite.xyz does not list IP blocklists or IP address blocking. Sender IP Blocklists worked well once upon a time but blocking all mail from Gmail, Yahoo, ISP outbound mail servers, etc. is not practical anyomore as spammers use legitimate mail servers with stolen credentials or hacked accounts.
  • spamshite.xyz does NOT accept external submissions for listing. Hence it is not possible for spamshite.xyz to be used as an instrument of revenge (eg: "disgruntled ex-employee" or "competitor").
  • spamshite.xyz operates in an entirely automated way designed to avoid listings due to bounces of forged spam, virus bounces, and "real" mail servers taking all measures to reduce spam.
  • spamshite.xyz expects you to resolve the problem yourself. There is no way to email us for resolution we dont accept mail on this domain only the website. We provide an explanation as to why your email may have been blocked but it's your responsibilty to take appropriate action.

What is domain reputation?

Domain reputation is the overall “health” of your branded domain as interpreted by mailbox providers. Your reputation is determined by various factors such as engagement, spam complaint rates, spam traps, and bounce rates.

Think of your domain reputation as a “credit score.” A higher score (from good email practices, data, and engagement) means more consistent inbox placement — and more eyes on your emails. If your domain has a negative history (spam complaints, low opens, higher-than-acceptable bounce rates, spam trap hits), then your score goes down. As a result, you’ll run into issues like spam folder placement, increased throttling, or even blocks from the mailbox provider.

You are responsible for all mail from your domain. If you have a website that uses insecure contact forms, spammers will quickly take advantage of this and it will impact on your domain reputation. When this happens it may take months or years to restore your domain reputation.

Sending TO and FROM Hotmail, Outlook & Live

If you are sending from or to hotmail.com, outlook.com or live.com, then there is a high risk that your email will face issues. Below are the most common reasons:

  1. Microsoft take a very aggressive but flawed approach to blacklist IP addresses. Microsoft will block network subnets. Subnets hold hundreds and somettimes thousands of IP addresses. So for any one bad IP address that may be responsible for sending SPAM, they block the entire range.

Lets put this in perspective in another way. There are 500 people that live in a town and Microsft are the police. One person in this town breaks the law but they can't be bothered doing an investigation. So their solution is to lockup ALL the people in that town.

Our solution is to lower the domain reputation used by these providers.

  2. Microsoft take a very aggressive but flawed approach to dealing with SPAM because they allow users of Hotmail, Outlook & Live accounts to flag any inbound mail as unwanted or "Junk" for any reason what so ever. The mail does not have to be scanned or processed as junk, it simply needs to be flagged by the recipient as unwanted or "Junk" and Microsoft servers will automatically start blocking the sending domain and the IP addresses of the mail server it was sent from. The problem with this is that Microsoft are allowing their users to determine what domains and email addresses get blocked without any qualification.
  3. Microsft has one set of rules for Microsoft's servers and another set of rules for non Microsoft servers. Mail sent from Outlook, Exchange, Live and Hotmail, i.e an IP address belonging to Microsoft, is exempt from any form of SPAM checking. Furthermore emails sent from Hotmail servers are injected with ads (with active links) which in itself is SPAM. It forces many service providers to take strict measures against Microsoft's mail servers. So there is no good reason to use Hotmail, Outlook & Live unless you dont care about email delivery.
  4. You can setup a free hotmail.com, outlook.com or live.com account with no validation in 1 minute. This is perfect for spammers, scammers to send spoofing and phishing emails with no validation and full anonymity. This activity only promotes SPAM

So why does Microsoft do this? One good reason is that all the problems above create business opportunities for Microsoft. It's a great way for Microsoft to market and upsell their business products by promoting Microsoft mail over other mail providers.

So if your recipient uses Hotmail, Outlook & Live and they want to receive your emails, tell them to get a real email address with a real domain and not one that fosters SPAM.

Sending to Gmail, AOL and Yahoo

If you send lots of email to email addresses belonging to these and and other FREE email providers there is a moderate chance of being listed here. Many spammers use these FREE email providers because they use little or no checks when creating an email address. Scammers nowadays can setup an email address with these FREE email providers in under 1 minute and start spamming & scamming people. The next day, they simply setup another one.

So if your recipeint uses Gmail, AOL or Yahoo Hotmail, tell them to give you a real email address and stop supporting SPAM.
